Mum you were an incredible person. So many people speak so highly about you. I could talk to you about anything. In fact, all my school friends use to line up to talk to you as well! You had a wonderful manner, always ready to listen and made people feel good about themselves. 
 
People say I am strong. I got that from you. You would say “what will be, will be.” You looked at life so positively. I remember thanking you once because you gave so much up to have me. And you said, “I wanted to. I’ve loved every minute.”  It couldn’t have been easy. Two young children and a husband in the navy and being so young yourself, and yet you did it. You showed me how to look at things, there was always a silver lining, always a way through. 
 
You also loved the moon. No matter where we were in the world you always told us to look at the moon, and you would be looking at it too, thinking of us. Well Mum, I now will look to the moon and always think of you.
